A true modern-day spectacle is the World Wide Web. Imagine watching it grow in slow-motion via a floating astronaut's view looking down upon the connected electric flows from all of the Earth's the servers to each other's computer systems and all from the comfort and tranquility of the outersphere. Beautiful, isn't it?

Now picture all the millions of people who have contributed their open source code to the Web and how they smile in the knowledge that they made this possible.
